September 30, 2009 -- Update Your Freview Box
All viewers with a Freeview digital TV or box need to retune their equipment on or after lunchtime on the 30/09/09 to continue receiving their available home digital channels.
The move involves around 25 million Digital Free To View TV sets and set-top boxes is needed to make channel Five and a new channel called Quest widely available.
It does not affect digital satellite television systems like Sky Digital or Freesat or cable television.
Some BBC radio stations will also be affected in areas that have already gone through digital switchover. available in half a million more homes across the UK and to prepare for high-definition broadcasts.
Unfortunately some 22,000 older Freeview set-top boxes may no longer work and will have to be replaced.
Retuning your set top box is quite simple and in most cases can be accomplished by following the instructions below.
1. Press MENU on your remote control.
2. From the Menu options, select Tuning
3. Select Auto Setup or Update
